The student uses newly acquired vocabulary expressively. Under the Common Core Standards, this year your child will learn the functions of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs — and what role they play in a sentence. To help out these students, along with all the others, I use a few different graphic organizers to help make planning and writing narratives that are focused, sequential, and interesting a bit easier for my students.
